Strict dad

Everytime I am thinking with those times that I’m suffering too much with my dad, I can’t help crying. My dad was very strict with me and he wanted that everything I’m going to do, his decision will be the final and no one can change it. He always wanted me to follow all of his rules specially with the course that Im going to take up.

My father wants me to become a lawyer someday. He wants me to be one of his friends who earns big being lawyer. He already made Small Business Loans so that he can support my studies. To be honest, I don’t want to become a lawyer but a architect rather. But whenever I thought about the Business Loans he made, that Business Loan that will going to support my studies, inspires me to continue studying even though I knew that I can’t get what I really want.

Before I log out from work, I received a message from my mother. She wants me to come home because she cooked my favorite meal, bacon stuffed roast chicken with tartar sauce and buttered asparagus. Though the invitation was tempting I declined the offer. I have other plans that night. I will meet a girl, who had been my chat mate for a couple of months now. I will have dinner at her home. When I reached her home, I was starving, it was a three hour drive from the city.

I could smell the roast chicken and asparagus back at home with red wine, my mouth watered. When I was ushered in the dining table after meeting her parents, what I saw in the table almost made me swoon. Fried frogs, sauteed dog’s tail, buttered rats ear and bitter gourd juice for the drinks. I forgot her family loves exotic foods.

Job Loosing

I am working for a big computer company and I was assigned in the warranty department. We basically call customers with expiring computer warranties and offer them an extended service warranty so their system will be covered by parts replacement and re more diagnosis and in home service plus technical support assistance from our company’s certified technicians. But this year, we experience a decreased in units being sold compared to previous years as a result of word wide recession. Customers now wants to take the risk and decline the warranty since they do not want to spend extra. Computers are now being offered at a very cheap price so it is just more convenient for customers to buy a new one than extend the warranty since they may not use the warranty after all.

Just last week, the sad news was laid to us, the company will be having a mass lay off and my name was on the list. I have been working for the company for the past five years and the news came to me in a shock. But that’s the way it is. I need to find another job and hopefully I will land in a stable job again. I will receive due compensation but loosing a job is always hard to accept and it undermines my self esteem. But we need to move on. It will be difficult to give up your comfort zone but we need to grow and find a new work place. We’ve already done all the comfortable and familiar things. To create new value, we need to step out into new territory.

Some Mistake

We never expected it to happen. When my boss retired, he was replaced by another senior officer. I maintained my position as the personal secretary to the finance manager. We were doing fine professionally until we went to a business dinner. After the business dinner with the clients, we went to bar to unwind and have a drink or two. I drunk more than enough and I find myself incapable of going home alone. He drove me home and he helped me to bed.

The night was very passionate. Something happened to us. He was married and what happened to us will destroy his career. So I have decided to resign from work and fins another job. When I got a new job, it was then that I found out that I was pregnant.

Looking back on the things I have done, I still could not believe that I am actually debt free now and my credit score is getting better.
